Explanation and notes

Long ago the earth was bhog bhoomi, where kalpavrikshas fulfilled every wish without work; as merit declined it became karma bhoomi and people were taught asi, masi, krishi, vidya, vanijya and shilp (shilp includes vastu). In the story, a woman wishes for water and receives it at once without a borewell or well. The kalpavriksha is the symbol of Bhagwan Sheetalnath; the teacher's book Vastu Darshan gives the 24 symbols of the 24 tirthankars for removing vastu doshas. Facing rule for pictures: North-East for most, South only for departed ancestors, West for devtas and devis.

Mirror (Darpan) as Mangal: Water Element and the Right Walls

The mirror is one of the eight mangal items (ashtamangal) and is considered the best of them; it drives away negative energy and reflects energy when placed in the right direction. It represents the water element and the Moon, so it belongs on the North or East wall.

Remedy

Convex and Concave Mirrors to Correct a Cut or an Extension

As taught in class, a convex mirror makes a small space look bigger and extends it, while a concave mirror makes a big space look smaller; so a convex mirror treats a cut and a concave mirror treats an extension. A plain mirror can also extend a cut.

Pen Cap and Ink Colour by Name Rashi for Signing Documents

A signature can pass or cancel a proposal, a cheque or a property deal, so the pen used for signing is chosen by the rashi of the name you sign with: the cap or body colour and the ink colour are matched to that rashi. Only three inks are used for the 12 rashis: red, blue and green.
