Principle

Overhead Tank Placement: West to North-West, Not SW or Over the Stairs

An overhead tank can be built anywhere from the West to the North-West; NNW and the South-West are wrong, and a tank over the staircase is best avoided.

What it does

Keeps stored water where it does not disturb the house.

Where

Roof, from the West to the North-West

Cautions

  • Do not build an overhead tank in the South-West, as many people do, or in NNW.
  • Avoid an overhead tank over the stairs unless the stairs are in the North-West; walking below it moves hydro currents and unsettles the mind.

Explanation and notes

Water used by labour in a factory follows the same rules: underground and overhead tanks go only where prescribed, whoever uses the water.

House Facing a Cremation Ground (Shamshan)

A house whose front faces a cremation ground does not give results even with correct facing and a correct door; most of the hard work drains away.
