If one of these four trees already stands at the house, a platform is built around it and raksha sutra is tied around it so that the deities stay in the tree and do not come out to trouble the family.

Questions and answers

What should be done when a peepal sprouts on its own in the house?

While it is still small, offer it one almond or one fruit and request: O tree deity, this place is not suitable for you, I want to take you elsewhere. Pour cow urine at its roots, take it out with the roots, carry it with the fruit and plant it in a forest. Make a protective shield (suraksha kavach) for yourself first.

A big peepal tree stands in the North-West of my own house and my health has suffered since I moved in; is it the cause?

Yes, it definitely causes trouble; a peepal tree there harms health. If the house were rented you could simply leave; since it is your own, give it on rent and live elsewhere.
