What it does
To strengthen a weak, combust, dead-degree or debilitated planet, or to boost a good one.
Samagri used
Explanation and notes
It suits a swagrahi planet at a poor degree, such as a combust 28-degree Saturn in its own sign, and a debilitated Saturn whose colour has to be worn, for example in a blue school uniform. No astrologer is needed to start the jaap. Exact words: refer to the class recording; the mantras were not recited in class.
Interior colours are selected in three ways: from the kundali (the planets ruling education, business, wealth and luck), from the element of the zone (its own colour or a friendly element colour), and from the work done in the space.
Red represents Mars and the Surya swar; it creates heat, fire and zeal in the body, so it is used wherever heavy physical work must be done fast.
Blue is a natural cooling and antiseptic colour that brings devotion, truth and respect, keeps body temperature balanced, and gives mental peace and spiritual growth.
Green, the colour of the air element, is antiseptic; it removes swelling, brings happiness, reduces negativity and detoxes the body.
Slightly warmed banyan leaves tied over a swollen part of the body remove the swelling; the healing comes from the natural green colour of the leaf.
Each trade has a supporting colour: yellow for every business, red for jewellery, chemicals, sweets and fire-related work, white for education, cloth and stationery, and green for health; black and grey only in small amounts.
Each direction has colours that suit it and colours to avoid, based on the friendship and enmity of the planets ruling the zones.
Oil-based paint contains lead that is released into the air and breathed in, causing cough, cold, eye irritation and disease; water-based paint should be used instead.
