Principle

Dwar Vedh from Pits, Wells, Drains, Poles, Trees, Roads and Vacant Houses

Pits, wells, drains, poles, big trees, garbage, a road hitting the door or a long-vacant house in front of the main door each bring a specific harm, from disease to loss of lifespan.

What it does

Explains the effect of each outdoor obstruction in front of the main door.

Cautions

  • A pit outside the gate that is permanently covered causes no problem.
  • A small tulsi pot in front of the door is not a vedh.

Explanation and notes

Road coming straight at the main door from the South, West, South-West, North-West or South-East: reduces lifespan (aayu naash dwar). Dug well right in front: a well of death, bringing mental trouble and depression; suicide cases were seen in old houses. Trench, pit or any hollow: drags the person into troubles, sorrow and big mishaps. Drain or dirty water channel: the biggest cause of sorrow. Garbage, an electric pole or a tree: diseases. A big tall tree: hampers the growth of children. Electric or telephone pole: harms the health and character of women. Long-vacant house or ruin: less prosperity; ghosts and spirits settle there and enter through open doors.
