Testing

Three Tests of Shikhi Activation: Ghee Fragrance, Diya Time and Wheat Jaware

Three simple tests show whether Shikhi devta is awake: how far the ghee fragrance spreads after a small havan, how long a ghee diya burns at the pad, and how tall wheat jaware grow there in seven days.

What it does

Confirms whether Shikhi is active or needs activation methods.

Where

Shikhi pad, E1

Samagri used

  • Desi cow ghee, half a spoon, and rice, half a spoon
  • Bhimseni kapoor
  • Ghee diya, for example with 10 g ghee
  • Dona of tree leaves filled with soil, and wheat grains

How to do it

  1. 1Light bhimseni kapoor and give nine aahutis of the ghee and rice; if the ghee fragrance spreads through the whole house up to the pishach bhoomi, the devta is active
  2. 2Light a ghee diya at the pad; if it burns longer than the same ghee burns elsewhere (10 g normally lasts about 10 to 25 minutes), the devta is active
  3. 3Fill a leaf dona with soil, sow wheat as for Navratri jaware and keep it on the ground at the pad
  4. 4After seven days measure the shoots: about 11 inches means fully active, about 7 inches means only moderately awake

Cautions

  • If the jaware are short, apply the activation methods

Explanation and notes

Devtas are sometimes already active through your punya or the good karma of past lives, as old friends who wake again, or when you enter a home after taking the permission of the devtas living there. A deactivated devta gives no fragrance and no sprouting.

Principleवास्तु पुरुष

Origin of Vastu Purush and the 45 Devtas, and Why They Matter

During Shiva's battle with Andhakasura a drop of his sweat produced a starving mahabhoot; devas and asuras laid him face down and 45 devtas sat on him, creating 45 places with separate functions on every plot. Brahma made him his manas putra and promised that whoever occupies land would remember and feed him.
