Vastu Devtaशिखी देवता

Shikhi Devta (E1, 39.375 to 50.625 Degrees): Profile, Samagri and Remedies

Shikhi, also called Shiva, is the first outer devta of the pishach bhoomi, at E1 near the North-East corner. A mahayogi and a highly sensitive maha-dowser, its pad reacts at once to anything done there; it governs vision, foresight and decisions.

What it does

A clean, balanced Shikhi pad gives residents far-sightedness, new ideas, a calm stable mind, quick decisions and premonition of coming events.

Where

E1 pad, 39.375 to 50.625 degrees from North, outer pishach bhoomi at the North-East corner

When

Its 45-minute period ends at 3:00 am, before sunrise; awake in the Shravan month

Samagri used

  • Marigold flowers, kesar (saffron) and kewra itra as offerings
  • Desi cow ghee dish such as gujiya, served on a paan leaf or leaf dona
  • Desi cow ghee diya and bhimseni kapoor lamp
  • Desi cow ghee with shali dhan for havan
  • Mor pankh (peacock feather) swastik
  • Silver Om and swastik
  • Damru, and a Nandi in brass or silver with gold polish
  • Gold or silver, its favoured metals
  • Amla tree, potted amla or amla fruit
  • Photo of a guru or yogi, or a scripture

How to do it

  1. 1Locate the pad from 39.375 to 50.625 degrees from North in the outer pishach bhoomi
  2. 2Keep it clean, level, uncut and free of damp
  3. 3Make a mor pankh swastik there to keep the devta active
  4. 4Offer its samagri on a paan leaf or leaf dona in its period before 3:00 am
  5. 5Confirm activation with the ghee fragrance, diya and wheat jaware tests

Cautions

  • Never cut, raise, dirty or leave the pad uneven, and avoid an anti colour; it opens the third eye of Shiva and brings turmoil
  • No main door (fire, accidents), no kitchen (poor health, memory loss, money problems, anger) and no toilet (no vansh vriddhi)
  • Never allow fungus or seepage here; it brings illness and weak eyesight

Explanation and notes

Nature: a mahayogi. The sun does sadhana all night and first projects its energy on E1, which is why dawn light appears about 48 minutes before sunrise; the land becomes yog bhoomi. Element water, planets Jupiter and Moon, item kesar; its seat in the body is the brain. Like Shiva it is so sensitive that any disturbance opens its third eye: anger, fire and accidents. Governs vision, far-sightedness, firm resolve, high thinking, quick decisions, a calm and stable mind, playfulness and foreknowledge of good and bad events. It is a guru who lives by nyay niti (justice and principle). Burying the item it likes at the pad keeps it established permanently (the exact item was not clearly audible). Defect signs: mind block, no ideas, vision, routine or purpose, no monitoring in business, children unable to memorise, tiredness; anger, fire and accidents; illness of the brain down to the throat such as migraine, vertigo and dementia, and weak eyesight.

Principleवास्तु पुरुष

Origin of Vastu Purush and the 45 Devtas, and Why They Matter

During Shiva's battle with Andhakasura a drop of his sweat produced a starving mahabhoot; devas and asuras laid him face down and 45 devtas sat on him, creating 45 places with separate functions on every plot. Brahma made him his manas putra and promised that whoever occupies land would remember and feed him.
