Wooden Furniture on Devta Pads Is Not a Dosh; Protect the Ashtamansh

A home cannot keep all 45 devta pads empty. Wooden furniture placed on any devta's pad, even on its most vital point (ati marma), is not considered a dosh; the vedic rule is to protect the ashtamansh, the sensitive one-eighth part of the pad.

What it does

Lets owners and carpenters place furniture without disturbing the devtas.

Cautions

  • Keep the ashtamansh of each pad protected

Explanation and notes

Wood does not sink in water, it floats, so it does not weigh on the devta. The devtas are below us, and in scientific terms each pad is a particular energy.

Principleवास्तु पुरुष

Origin of Vastu Purush and the 45 Devtas, and Why They Matter

During Shiva's battle with Andhakasura a drop of his sweat produced a starving mahabhoot; devas and asuras laid him face down and 45 devtas sat on him, creating 45 places with separate functions on every plot. Brahma made him his manas putra and promised that whoever occupies land would remember and feed him.
