Dehleez Test: Breath and Body Signs When Setting Out to See a Plot

The threshold (dehleez) of the home acts as a testing machine: the moment you step over it to go and see a plot, flat or factory, your breath and body signal whether that property is good. Equal flow in both nostrils or left-side body signs warn against it; earth or water element in the breath and right-side signs approve it.

What it does

To judge a property before even reaching it.

Where

Threshold (dehleez) of your own home

When

The moment of stepping out of the house to inspect the property

How to do it

  1. 1Get ready at home to go and see the land, flat or factory; the connection with that land starts at once
  2. 2As you step out over the dehleez, check your breath
  3. 3If both nostrils flow equally (sushumna nadi), take it that the plot is not good
  4. 4If the air from either nostril reaches 12 or 16 angul downward (earth or water element), take it that the property is perfect
  5. 5Notice the body at that moment: itching, a hand going to the head, or twitching (sphuran)
  6. 6Take signs on the right side of the body, or the hand going to the right side, as auspicious, and on the left side as inauspicious

Cautions

  • Predictions made without knowledge of swar, or in the wrong swar, do not come true

Explanation and notes

The dehleez is built and worshipped because it reports success and failure, profit and loss, health and wealth: as soon as you step on it, it sounds an alarm through the nostrils and the body. A day that begins with unusual joy, when you and every member of the family are laughing and playful, also signals that the plot to be seen that day is very good. The connection with a land forms through the breath, so its effect shows in the body even before reaching it, and even from 1000 km away when you think of the land and breathe with it in mind.

Principle

Land Energy Carries 70 Percent Weight in Land Selection

When selecting a plot, flat or industrial land, the energy of the land itself decides about 70 percent of the result, more than slope, shape or surrounding structures. A building made fully as per directional vastu can still fail on land with bad energy.

Predictionशकुन शास्त्र

Inauspicious Omens on the Way to See a Plot or Flat

Shakun shastra (nimitta gyan) reads the signs met on the way to a property; certain sights and events on the journey warn that the plot or flat is not good. They arise because the land's energy is already acting on the visitor's body chemistry.

Testingशल्य

Locating Buried Shalya from Bird Droppings, Injury and Itching

Where a bird's droppings fall on the visitor's body or clothes, where the visitor gets hurt, or where itching starts on the way to or while walking a land points to the matching part of the Vastu Purush where a defect or buried bone (shalya) lies.

Prediction

Dog, Jackal and Crow Omens at the Plot

The behaviour of street dogs, jackals and crows at a plot or flat reveals its quality: a crow cawing while facing East or North is a good sign, while crying dogs and a crow on a dry tree are grave warnings.

Prediction

Sights and Sounds on First Entering a Land or Flat

What one first sees and hears on stepping onto a land or into a flat indicates its energy: black items, broken things, snake holes and harsh sounds are bad signs, while a conch, aarti or auspicious songs, a rainbow or a joyful sky are good ones.

Prediction

Torn or Soiled Clothes While Visiting a Land

Clothes that tear, get a hole, or get soiled with mud, dung or dirty water on the way to or at a land signal that the land is not good; the position of a tear shows how bad it is.
