Principle

Moon (North-West) Interior: White, Pearl, Marble, Water Creatures and Plants

The North-West is the seat of the Moon and of Vayu (air). Its interior uses white and ivory, pearls, white stone and a little white marble, pictures of water creatures and the full Moon, and moon-loving plants.

What it does

To strengthen the Moon and the North-West, the zone of trade and movement of goods, and to remove North-West doshas.

Where

North-West zone

Samagri used

  • Colours: white, ivory
  • Pearls fixed in the wall or strings of pearls as decor
  • White stone and white marble for flooring or artifacts
  • Crescent-shaped marble piece for a weak Moon
  • Pictures of fish, tortoise, cat, white horse, swans and water birds
  • Full Moon painting or photograph
  • Colourless quartz ball (a green one also suits)
  • Plants: kumudini (water lily), white rose, coconut, sweet neem, peace lily

How to do it

  1. 1Use white and ivory in the North-West
  2. 2For a major North-West dosh fix pearls into the wall or hang strings of pearls as decorative pieces
  3. 3For a weak Moon place a crescent-shaped marble piece and use marble in a small part of the flooring
  4. 4Hang pictures of water creatures, a white horse or swans, or a full Moon painting
  5. 5Grow kumudini, white rose, sweet neem or peace lily, and keep a quartz ball here

Cautions

  • Do not use marble throughout the house; only a piece or a small part of the flooring
  • Avoid Moon pictures when the Moon is conjunct Saturn in the birth chart

Explanation and notes

Vedic tradition always places Vayu (air) in the North-West, though feng shui removed the air element from it. Because the Moon lives here, the North-West is the direction for business and for goods coming and going; the Moon is described as the planet that rains money. Kumudini blooms only in moonlight, and peace lily works like magic in this zone.
