Pit Refill (Specific Gravity) Test for Land

A pit is dug, first in the North-East, and its own soil is packed back into it: leftover soil shows a strong land, while soil that falls short shows a hungry (bhukkad) land that drains the energy of its occupants.

What it does

To judge the relative density and energy of a land before buying or building.

Where

First pit in the North-East (Ishaan) of the land

Samagri used

See every other use of:

How to do it

  1. 1Dig a pit, first in the Ishaan (North-East) of the land
  2. 2Put the dug-out soil back into the same pit, pressing it down firmly as it was
  3. 3If about 25 percent of the soil is left over after the pit is full, take the land as very auspicious
  4. 4If the soil exactly fills the pit, take the land as moderate
  5. 5If the soil falls short by about 10 percent, take the land as inauspicious for business, residence, school, temple or any other work

Cautions

  • Leave a land whose soil falls short: it is hungry (bhukkad) land that will eat up the energy of those who use it

Explanation and notes

This is a physical test of the relative density (apekshik ghanatva) of the soil.

Principle

Land Energy Carries 70 Percent Weight in Land Selection

When selecting a plot, flat or industrial land, the energy of the land itself decides about 70 percent of the result, more than slope, shape or surrounding structures. A building made fully as per directional vastu can still fail on land with bad energy.

Dehleez Test: Breath and Body Signs When Setting Out to See a Plot

The threshold (dehleez) of the home acts as a testing machine: the moment you step over it to go and see a plot, flat or factory, your breath and body signal whether that property is good. Equal flow in both nostrils or left-side body signs warn against it; earth or water element in the breath and right-side signs approve it.

Predictionशकुन शास्त्र

Inauspicious Omens on the Way to See a Plot or Flat

Shakun shastra (nimitta gyan) reads the signs met on the way to a property; certain sights and events on the journey warn that the plot or flat is not good. They arise because the land's energy is already acting on the visitor's body chemistry.

Testingशल्य

Locating Buried Shalya from Bird Droppings, Injury and Itching

Where a bird's droppings fall on the visitor's body or clothes, where the visitor gets hurt, or where itching starts on the way to or while walking a land points to the matching part of the Vastu Purush where a defect or buried bone (shalya) lies.

Prediction

Dog, Jackal and Crow Omens at the Plot

The behaviour of street dogs, jackals and crows at a plot or flat reveals its quality: a crow cawing while facing East or North is a good sign, while crying dogs and a crow on a dry tree are grave warnings.

Prediction

Sights and Sounds on First Entering a Land or Flat

What one first sees and hears on stepping onto a land or into a flat indicates its energy: black items, broken things, snake holes and harsh sounds are bad signs, while a conch, aarti or auspicious songs, a rainbow or a joyful sky are good ones.
