Vastu Devtaभृश देवता

Bhrisha Devta (E7, 106.875 to 118.125 Degrees): Profile, Samagri and Remedies

Bhrisha, the seventh devta of the East, is weighty and powerful with its own gravity; balanced, it awakens the nerves of the brain and raises thinking power, observation and one-pointed concentration, like a bird gazing fixedly at one point. Imbalanced, the mind gets confused, the nature turns dominating and kidney problems appear.

What it does

Activate Bhrisha for concentration, analysis and quick decisions, and to protect the kidneys.

Where

Pad E7 of the East side, 106.875 to 118.125 degrees (East-South-East zone)

When

Not stated separately; in the 45-minute sequence it follows the 6:45 am slot of Satya

Samagri used

  • Element: earth
  • Fragrance: champa and firdaus ittar
  • Symbol: makar (crocodile); special symbol of the earth element shape with a swastik, which also represents earth
  • Mineral: hematite (iron colour), put into the ground
  • Colour: dark blue
  • Tree: meetha neem (curry leaf) in a pot
  • Parrot painting
  • Dried coconut (gola), white sandalwood and ghee for havan
  • Coconut oil lamp for the activation test

How to do it

  1. 1Do a havan of grated dried coconut, white sandalwood and ghee at E7
  2. 2Apply firdaus ittar when the mind cannot concentrate or decide
  3. 3Put hematite into the ground and keep a parrot painting at E7
  4. 4Grow meetha neem in a pot
  5. 5Test with a coconut oil lamp

Cautions

  • Blue is normally avoided in the East, but E7 takes dark blue to cool the fire of the nearby Agni corner

Explanation and notes

Its one job is to fix the mind on an object, stop it wandering and analyse it. Disturbed energy at a devta pad enters the linked body part; at E7 it shows as kidney disease, so kidney trouble in a client's house points to E7. Jaap: earth element beej mantra, or Om Shri [name] Namah; exact words: refer to the class recording. Good uses: research and analytical room, laboratory, mechanic's or workshop room where one has to keep calculating. The blue colour follows the rule of opposites: where there is heat give coolness, where there is cold give heat, just as the cooling chandra swar should flow while the Sun is up.
