Mangal Kalash in the North-East Filled with Samagri

After Om and swastik the kalash is the greatest symbol and is established before every beginning (wedding, business start, construction, any of the 16 sanskar). A filled mangal kalash with a coconut in the North-East of every home, factory and office forms Gajkesari yoga and balances the five elements.

What it does

Bring peace, welfare and wealth to a home, factory or office.

Where

North-East of every home, factory and office; a clay kalash can go in any direction

When

Before starting any auspicious work or sanskar

Samagri used

  • Kalash of clay, silver, copper, brass, gold or mixed metal
  • Water
  • Coconut for the mouth
  • Haldi
  • Supari
  • Peeli sarson
  • Panchratna
  • Silver swastik
  • Silver sava rupaya coin
  • Saptadhanya
  • Bhimseni kapoor or 1 gram mercury
  • Raksha sutra (mauli)
  • Small mirror

How to do it

  1. 1Fill the kalash with water and the samagri: haldi, supari, peeli sarson, panchratna, silver swastik, silver sava rupaya and saptadhanya
  2. 2Add Bhimseni kapoor or 1 gram mercury so the samagri does not spoil even in 50 years
  3. 3Place a coconut directly on the mouth instead of a metal lid
  4. 4Tie raksha sutra on the mouth of the kalash
  5. 5Fix a small mirror on the outside of the kalash to keep negativity away
  6. 6Keep it in the North-East

Cautions

  • Never keep a rotten coconut in a kalash or anywhere in the house, even one energised with mantra
  • If you cannot keep a kalash, make the kalash symbol instead

Explanation and notes

Ishaan is Jupiter's location and water is the Moon, so a water-filled kalash there forms Gajkesari yoga. The coconut is the one fruit containing all five elements, so it captures energy and balances the elements. A silver kalash is kept above ground in the North-East; mixed metal or copper is also fine. Some decorate the kalash with small round mirror pieces all around. A rotten coconut is like a dead body in the house and spreads negativity; its mantra power ends when it rots, and people may get eye problems because the coconut's eyes burst (a coconut has three eyes). Old doors had a kalash carved at the top and dwarpals at the sides; interiors can keep dwarpals or make them on the main door.

Mirror (Darpan) as Mangal: Water Element and the Right Walls

The mirror is one of the eight mangal items (ashtamangal) and is considered the best of them; it drives away negative energy and reflects energy when placed in the right direction. It represents the water element and the Moon, so it belongs on the North or East wall.

Remedy

Convex and Concave Mirrors to Correct a Cut or an Extension

As taught in class, a convex mirror makes a small space look bigger and extends it, while a concave mirror makes a big space look smaller; so a convex mirror treats a cut and a concave mirror treats an extension. A plain mirror can also extend a cut.

Remedy

Pen Cap and Ink Colour by Name Rashi for Signing Documents

A signature can pass or cancel a proposal, a cheque or a property deal, so the pen used for signing is chosen by the rashi of the name you sign with: the cap or body colour and the ink colour are matched to that rashi. Only three inks are used for the 12 rashis: red, blue and green.
