Questions and answers

Is it a dosh if the lift is to the side of my flat door rather than directly in front?

No. A lift creates dwar vedh only when it is exactly in front of the main door, where it obstructs luck and delays work. Its remedies are taught with the other remedies.

In a flat, if part of the shape is cut by the stairs or lift, how is that part treated?

The flat is the part you actually enter and use. Once inside, your movement and work happen only in that area, so the part you cannot access, taken by the stairs, lift or the neighbouring flat, is a cut in your flat.

If a lift opens directly into the house, does it work as the main door?

A door is an opening with a threshold (dehleez) and a frame (chaukhat). Energy does come in through a lift, but only while the lift is there and open; when it is closed or has gone down, no energy comes from it, so it does not act like a proper main door.

In my building the flat entrance faces an electric shaft just before the lift, the same on all 25 floors. What should be done?

Remedies for a lift or shaft in the wrong place are taught in the diploma. The same lift falls in a different zone for each flat, in the NE for some and the NW for others, so the remedy depends on the zone it falls in.

You said to leave the main door clockwise, but the lift is on my left as I come out of the flat. What should I do?

When you step out of the main door, first go to the right, even a step or two, and then turn left; then there is no dosh. People do the same with cars, moving them a little in the clockwise direction first. Leaving the house anti-clockwise is called heen bahu dwar.
