A plot touching a temple wall on the deity's left side, or behind the deity's back, should not be taken even free, for a home or a business. The deity's right side is good if the walls do not touch, and the front is good only beyond double the distance.
A plot or house squeezed between two tall buildings on opposite sides, even South and North, gets neither balanced magnetic and gravitational force nor sun rays. Such a house wrecks every effort and should not be bought even if it is offered free.

Living above a bank is acceptable, but a flat whose toilet lies directly above the bank's safe or locker room, where the money is kept, ruins its residents financially.

A permanently flowing river, channel or nala in the South, West or South-West of a property is very harmful, and even a seasonal one is wrong. A swimming pool or a very large underground tank in the South-West of a building is equally bad.
South, West and South-West of the plot or building
A tall building close to the North or East of a plot blocks its energy: in the North it causes money problems and in the East loss of name and fame. A tall building on the back side, in the South, South-West or West, gives strong progress.
North and East of the plot (harmful); South, South-West and West (helpful)
The shadow of a temple's shikhar or dhwaj must never fall on a house during the second and third pahar, 9 am to 3 pm. It ruins the household, whatever the temple: Jain, Vaishnav, Ram, Brahma, Mahadev or Durga.
When selecting a plot, flat or industrial land, the energy of the land itself decides about 70 percent of the result, more than slope, shape or surrounding structures. A building made fully as per directional vastu can still fail on land with bad energy.
A building receives two energies: geopathic energy rising from the earth, which is the main support and stays the same on every floor, and cosmic energy from the air, which can differ from floor to floor with orientation. So the ground floor and basement energy is checked first.
If the land energy is good, a building can still succeed despite mistakes in orientation; if the orientation is 100 percent correct but the land energy is zero, no effort brings results. Land energy is read best by your own soul and subconscious mind, not by equipment alone.
Each planet rules a direction (Sun East, Mercury North, Saturn West, Rahu South-West); if that planet is debilitated, badly placed or very low in degree in a person's kundli, a house facing, bedroom, office seat or study in its direction harms them.

In the kundli chart the top (1st) house is East, the 4th house North, the 7th house West and the 10th house South, with the corners as the sub-directions; these directions stay fixed while rashis and planets move.
A strong planet makes its direction the best facing, entrance and bedroom location, while a debilitated planet or a lord of the 6th, 8th or 12th house makes the same direction one to avoid.
The house as a whole is planned from the chart of the head of the family whose money built it, while a member's own room can follow that member's chart.
How much taller, and how close, must a building to the North be before it harms our building?
If your building is 16 feet high, a northern building up to 1 to 2 feet taller is acceptable, but one 4 to 5 feet or more taller, such as 20 feet, causes much harm. Distance removes the effect: a taller building or raised hill standing at least double your building's height away has no effect, so a 70-foot building is not affected by a building of double height 150 feet away.
If a much taller building is built only 10 to 12 feet in front of a third-floor flat, how does it affect the flat?
If a proper distance is maintained there is no problem, but a building many times taller standing close in front, within roughly 25 to 50 feet, has a bad effect. This is why the lowest floors of a building are the cheapest and the upper floors the costliest. Remedies for this are taught later.
People boil milk when entering a new flat; is there a science behind it?
Yes, it is nimitta gyan and not merely a custom of letting milk boil over for luck. If the milk heats fully and boils over without any sound, it is auspicious, a sign that the offering has been accepted. If it crackles or pops like ghee on heat, some ritual was left incomplete or some defect remains in the construction or the griha pravesh. The colour of the flame where milk or ghee falls, red, yellow or black, is also read.
Our house faces a cremation ground and despite hard work we have had no results for four years. What should we do?
A house facing a cremation ground drains about 90% of the effort, and changes made in it give only about 10% results. Mercury and mercury nails placed all around give some relief but not full results. Plan to leave the house and take another one in time to secure the future of the children.
If a person's date of birth is not known correctly and no kundli can be made, how are their land and house planned?
The planets are still there even if the kundli is lost. A perfect kundli can be made from the thumb through Bhrigu Samhita, and Nadi astrologers also prepare it. A Prashna kundli can be cast, and Samudrik shastra (reading the body) also shows which planets are exalted or debilitated. Get this worked out by an astrologer.
Yes. With the person's astrology as the base, the door is chosen according to whom it will suit. The class covers three ways, by rashi, by exalted and debilitated planets in the birth chart, and by mulank, and the birth chart carries the most weight.
