Brahmastra

Four Practices That Make a Person Immune to Vastu Dosh

Four practices protect a person from even a thousand vastu doshas or a wrongly placed door: a daily navgrah herb bath, tirth darshan in eclipses and vyatipat yoga, full use of swar all day, and daily abhishek with charan raj.

Daily routine of the person and the home

Brahmastraअखंड दीप

Desi Cow Ghee Akhand Deep in the Kitchen's South-East (Agneya)

A continuous lamp of desi cow ghee in the agneya (SE) of the kitchen, lit in sagun, drives away negative energy and increases wealth; it is called the biggest brahmastra, worth more than all other interior work.

South-East (agneya kon) of the kitchen; it can also burn in a SE room or in a kitchen in the NW

Remedy

Daily Threshold Care: Water Sprinkle, Cow-Dung Lepan and Zone-Colour Rangoli

Sprinkle a little water on the main door threshold every morning and make a rangoli to welcome the Sun. For a wrongly placed door, plaster the ground in front with cow dung daily and make the rangoli in the colour of that zone.

Methodदिग वंदना

Dig Vandana with Yellow Mustard

Energised yellow mustard is thrown towards each direction in turn while chanting the dig vandana mantra, or with a command and Om, to clear the negative energy coming from every side. It is done daily for a shop that is not running and before any work on unknown land.

Facing each direction in turn at the shop, house or land

Methodसगुण

Sagun Practice: Lighting Lamps and Blowing the Shankh While Holding the Breath

Sagun means doing an act while holding the breath. A lamp lit in sagun burns many times longer on the same ghee, and a shankh blown in sagun with a wish in mind drives negative energy out of the house.

Kitchen, puja room or anywhere in the house

Energy Boosting

Guru Photo, Mangal Kalash and Swastik in the Kitchen Instead of a Temple

Do not build a temple in the kitchen; keep a small Mangal kalash at the agneya kon with a small photo of your Guru or ishta, and draw a swastik in front of your eyes so the food cooked becomes like amrit.

Kitchen: kalash and photo at the SE; swastik at eye level in front of the cook

Vastu Devtaसूर्य देवता

Surya Devta (E5, 84.375 to 95.625 Degrees): Profile, Samagri and Remedies

Surya, the fifth devta at the centre of the East, lights the three worlds, destroys darkness and negativity, gives energy to all planets and never misses its time. Balanced, it gives fearlessness, good decisions, speaking power, fame, leadership, government support and perfect time management.

Pad E5, the centre of the East, 84.375 to 95.625 degrees (East zone)

Principle

Sleep with the Head to the South, Never with the Feet to the South

The human body has its own poles, with the head as its north pole and the feet as its south pole. With the head to the South, the poles of body and earth lie opposite and attract; with like poles together they repel, and sleep does not come.

Bed in the bedroom, head side to the South

Principleपूर्व दिशा

East Direction: Indra, Sun and Ruby for Production, Talent and Health

The East is ruled by Indra, its planet is the Sun, its gem is ruby (manik), its symbol is the vajra and its vehicle the Airavat elephant; in the Vastu Purush it is the mouth. A strong East brings production, talent, children's progress, health and immunity.

Window and Ventilator Rules: Allowed Padas, Outward Opening, Even Numbers

Windows and ventilators work on the lighter, higher layers of energy and are needed to let negativity out. Place them on the allowed padas, make them open outward, keep them in even numbers and ideally two-shuttered, and open them every morning.

All windows and ventilators; a window and its ventilator on the same pada

Questions and answers

When should the tithi swar be checked, at sunrise or on waking, and does getting up at night to pass urine count as waking?

Getting up at about 2 or 3 am to pass urine is not counted as waking up. The tithi swar is checked at the moment you actually wake from sleep; it has nothing to do with the time of sunrise.

Mornings go in sending the children to school. When else can nadi shodhan be done?

At any time on an empty stomach, for example at 3 or 4 pm, provided the last meal was about four hours earlier. Wear clean clothes and keep the body free of negativity.

How long is each Vastu Devta's time period, and when are Shikhi and Parjanya active?

Each outer devta has a sadhana period of 45 minutes, so the 32 outer devtas complete the 24 hours (32 x 45 minutes) and come back to the same point. Shikhi's period runs up to 3:00 am and Parjanya's from 3:00 to 3:45 am. Havan and offerings made in a devta's own period wake and activate it quickly.

Is the time given for each devta only its starting time, or a full period?

It is a 45-minute period. The count starts with Shikhi devta from 3:00 to 3:45 am, and each next devta takes the next 45 minutes.

What should be done if the kitchen is in the East?

There is no need to worry: an East kitchen is moderate. It suits early cooking, with the morning meal ready by about 9 to 9:30 am as in the kitchens of sadhus, so simply cook early.

Which way should one face while studying, praying, eating or bathing?

Face North or East during study, meditation, puja, bhajan, meals and bathing.

What does a window do, and why should it open outward?

A door is placed by pada, but a window does not work on the surface current: currents are dense near the ground and lighter higher up, so positive energy stays higher, which makes ventilation a must. Windows and ventilators bring in clean air and push the negativity of the house out, so they should open outward, while the main door opens inward; sliding windows are acceptable. Keep windows in even numbers, two-shuttered if possible, in one row at one level, with a window beside the main door; open all windows in the morning and keep the left (Chandra swar) window open during the day.

You said to leave the main door clockwise, but the lift is on my left as I come out of the flat. What should I do?

When you step out of the main door, first go to the right, even a step or two, and then turn left; then there is no dosh. People do the same with cars, moving them a little in the clockwise direction first. Leaving the house anti-clockwise is called heen bahu dwar.
